Digital Literacy and Technological Skills (DLTS)@ Clementi Primary School
We aim to equip our students with these skills to use computers and the Internet safely. They also learn to find information, create digital work, and be responsible online. These skills are divided into 9 digital competencies (DC) as shown in the table below.
Primary 1 & 2 - TECHSPARK @ CTP
Clementians will begin their DLTS journey by igniting their curiosity and creativity with technology. They will learn essential digital skills including computer basics (Use of mouse and Touch Typing for keyboard), safe browsing habits, using the SLS, performing kid-friendly searches, understanding web links, identifying appropriate content, basic image/text editing, introductory touch-typing, and practicing online safety etiquette.
Primary 3 & 4 - TECHVENTURE @ CTP
Clementians will embark on exciting technology-driven adventures. These include developing key digital competencies including online privacy management, digital identity protection strategies, advanced web searching, personal data safeguarding protocols, foundational cybersecurity principles, proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet applications while incorporating the use of Google Classroom, effective video conferencing conduct, and critical evaluation of online information sources.
Primary 5 & 6 - TECHFUSION @ CTP
Clementians will blend innovation and learning with technology. We focus on the following key areas:
Responsible Digital Citizenship: Clementians will develop a strong understanding of ethical online conduct, responsible communication practices, and digital safety protocols. This includes fostering respectful interactions and awareness of online risks.
Multimedia Content Creation: Clementians will learn the foundational skills for creating various forms of digital media, including images, audio, and video. This fosters creativity and provides avenues for expressing their understanding through diverse mediums.
Digital Information Management: Clementians will acquire essential skills in organizing, storing, and retrieving digital information effectively. This includes understanding file management systems and developing efficient search strategies.
Exploration of Emerging Technologies: Age-appropriately, Clementians will be introduced to new and developing technologies to cultivate curiosity and a foundational understanding of the evolving digital landscape. One key highlight will be the Code for Fun programme that is offered jointly by IMDA and Ministry of Education (MOE) which aims to expose primary school students to computational thinking through coding, inventive thinking through digital making and emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI).
Interactive Digital Project Design: Clementians will engage in designing basic interactive digital projects, such as simple games or interactive narratives. This process encourages problem-solving and computational thinking skills.
Basic Data Analysis and Visualization: Clementians will be introduced to fundamental concepts of data analysis, learning to interpret simple datasets and present them visually through charts and graphs. This builds foundational analytical skills.
Evaluation and Selection of Digital Tools: Clementians will develop critical thinking skills to evaluate the suitability and effectiveness of various digital tools for specific tasks, promoting informed technology use.
Collaborative Online Workspaces: Clementians will learn to utilize online platforms for collaborative projects, fostering teamwork, communication, and shared digital creation.
Effective Digital Presentation Skills: Clementians will develop the ability to create and deliver clear and engaging digital presentations, enhancing their communication and information-sharing skills.
